Charitable Mission of Jeremiah Bishop's Apline Loop Gran Fondo
Jeremiah Bishop's Alpine Loop Gran Fondo provides the opportunity
and inspiration for individuals and teams to take on great challenges in support of worthy causes. Beyond operating expenses, all proceeds from the event will directly benefit the local community and charitable causes.
The Alpine Loop Gran Fondo will further organize support for its charitable causes through additional donations, Spirito di Squadra fundraising teams, raffles, silent auctions of donated merchandise, and the gala event in Downtown Harrisonburg.

Prostate Cancer Awareness Project
The mission of the Prostate Cancer Awareness Project is to significantly increase the prostate cancer survivor rate by dramatically increasing the rate of early detection, with the objective that that no man should experiences a surprise, post-metastasis prostate cancer diagnosis.

In 2011, Jeremiah Bishop's Alpine Loop Gran Fondo will raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Awareness Project - before tallying additional contributions from Spirito di Squadra Fundraising Teams who choose to raise funds specifically for the Prostate Cancer Awareness Project.
With the inspiration and challenge of the Alpine Loop, there is no limit to the amount of support this event can return to its Presenting Sponsor!

Bishop Family Charitable Foundation
The Alpine Loop Gran Fondo supports of the mission of the Bishop Family Charitable Foundation, Inc (filing for 501(c)(3) status) to promote and provide resources for charitable, educational, recreational and civic-minded purposes, including funding the construction of shared use trails and alternative transportation routes from Harrisonburg schools to surrounding neighborhoods, urban centers and outdoor recreation opportunities; and promoting cycling as a means to better the health and wellness, safety, and sustainability of the community.

To best execute this mission, the Foundation works closely with other non-profits and organizations including the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition, DR100.org, Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance, and the City of Harrisonburg.
In 2011, while the Foundation continues organizing, all funds raised in support of its mission will be directed to the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition to jumpstart funding of the construction of shared use trails and alternative transportation routes from Harrisonburg schools to surrounding neighborhoods, urban centers and outdoor recreation opportunities - specifically in 2011, funds will support the proposed shared-use path to connect the Harrisonburg High School with Hillandale Park and the city's existing network of bicycle routes.
